KUALA LUMPUR, Tuesday 16 November 2010 (Bernama) -- Datuk Zaid Ibrahim challenged the PKR secretary general today to name the new party that he is supposed to have set up.
He was responding to the allegation by Saifuddin Nasution that Zaid already had a party where he had placed his men.
In an SMS to Bernama, the former Federal Territory PKR chairman said: "Ask Saifuddin the name of the party and who are my men (in the party)."
Zaid Ibrahim said he is really not the sort to hop from party to party. He is leaving PKR because he got fed up with what was going on the party, he said.
"It is also to hold firm to the principle of truth" that he is quitting the party in which he had been active for about two years, he added.
Zaid did not think it apt to compare his present situation with his departure from Umno.
He noted that he had been sacked from Umno for going against the party constitution by attending a PKR national congress.
In the case of PKR, he said he was voluntarily leaving the party of which Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is the de facto leader.
