SELAYANG: A subsidiary of Selangor Development Corporation, PKNS Infra Berhad, will be hauled to court for water theft at its construction site in Bukit Botak here.The construction company was caught in the act during a raid by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) yesterday following a tip-off.Syabas corporate communications and public affairs Priscilla Alfred said the company had illegally tapped water from their main pipe since March, causing over RM211.300 in losses.The company faces a RM100.000 fine and a year's jail or both under Section 123 (3) of the Water Services Industry Act 2006.She said the company, the seventh contractor to be taking over the lowcost housing project, claimed to be unaware of the illegal water connection."They claimed the utilities was handled by their subcontractors but we are still pressing charges against the company as they are the main contractor."When contacted, PKNS Infra declined to comment.An employee checking on the water connection during a raid by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd at a construction site in Bukit Botak, Selayang, yesterday.
